After being very close to Zenit St. Petersburg last year, Serbian midfielder Ivan Ilic is once again in the sights of a Russian club: Spartak Moscowa company that has put 15 million euros on the table plus bonuses for the purchase of the player born in 2001. Torino has not closed on the sale, asking for just over twenty million euros to give the green light to the operation. But contacts are ongoing and there is optimism that the deal will close. Should it materialize, Ilic would sign a contract valid until 30 June 2029 with the Moscow club.
In recent days Urbano Cairo, president of Torino, spoke thus about the present and future of his club, also connecting to the transfer market: “I have never lost the desire. I’ve always had the desire to strengthen Toro and I still have it, it hasn’t gone away. I’m focused: we’re in January, it’s a difficult month because you want to bring in players and maybe other teams don’t give them to you. You read a lot of things, maybe one doesn’t sell a player and sells another. You have to be careful not to make operations that are out of order.”
And in yet another passage:“We have many discussions underway, we are thinking about many things: we hope to be able to do something that we like. January is a very complicated month: in 2022 we carried out a good operation with Ricci, then also Ilic. It is not certain that we will be able to reply, but we are still at the 11th of the month. We are working.”
