Milan has to deal with the black smoke of the operation that should have led to it Noah Okafor to Leipzig, with the Germans canceling the transfer after the Swiss highlighted some problems during his medical examinations. An obligatory introduction to talk about the possible arrival at the Rossoneri of Marcus Rashford. Of the Englishman and the fellow countryman Kyle Walkeranother AC Milan target, spoke to the Gazzetta dello Sport Gianfranco Zola:
Zola, let’s start with Rashford: can the United striker be useful to the Devil?
“Talking about Rashford for me is… a sore point because, ever since he was a kid, I have always considered him a strong player, someone capable of making a difference. However, he disappointed me a little because he could have given much more : he alternated great seasons, like the one two years ago, with disappointing seasons like the last one. It was quite inconsistent.”
What could you give to Milan?
“He is certainly fast and technically strong. In Italy he could have an important performance, but it depends on him: for me he could have been the MVP of the Premier League for years but instead he never was.”
If Rashford has alternated ups and downs, Walker with his consistency has played a key role in City, of which he is captain.
“Talking about Walker is like discovering hot water: he is a physically very high level footballer and from this point of view he could make a difference in Serie A too. He would come from a tournament which on a physical level is the most demanding of all Europe and therefore he would be a defender capable of having a great impact.
Whoever gets him is going to make a great deal.”
In your opinion, would Milan need Walker or Rashford more?
“This type of assessment belongs to the Rossoneri managers, who know Conceiçao’s requests and the team’s needs well, not to myself. I will limit myself to saying that we are faced with two very high-level players, two elements who in Italy could give the their contribution also to an important club like Milan. Indeed, they could make the difference.”
