Real, Ancelotti: “Never considered a national team, I like training every day”

Speaking at the microphones of Radio Anch’io Sport on Rai Radio 1mister Carlo Ancelotti he spoke like this about his adventure at Real Madrid and the possibility of one day coaching a national team (Brazil had been talked about for a long time) “Coaching Real Madrid is an honor and a pleasure. I said that winning is not easy, but winning with Real Madrid is a little easier than elsewhere.”

Rematch with Milan in the Champions League? “The goal is to get to play in the final, we have set ourselves this goal again this year. The journey hasn’t been easy so far, there are two matches left to qualify and then we’ll see. In Europe the only team that has made a clear path it was Liverpool, leading the Champions League and the Premier League. But then in March-April is when you have to be ready to try to win.”

The evolution of football: “Football has changed, is changing and will change again. Refereeing has improved, like the referee-player relationship, it has changed for the better. What needs to be revised is the number of matches: the calendar is exaggerated and too demanding for the players There is no longer any possibility of training. The calendar must change, we cannot continue like this, because it puts the players’ health at risk.”

Coaching a national team? “I haven’t taken it into consideration yet, I like training every day.”

Won’t Real Madrid be Ancelotti’s last club? “And who knows, you can’t know this. Who knows how many years I’ll stay here. I have a two-year contract, but contracts can be broken but also extended.”

New Champions League format: “There are many more surprises. More accredited teams like us, City and PSG have had more problems than less strong teams like Lille or Brest, now in the top positions. This new format has brought a little more uncertainty. But there ‘there is still room to recover.”

10 substitutions in the future of football? “But no! Just play fewer games. UEFA, FIFA and the national leagues must find an agreement. From now to January 29th we will play nine games. It seems a bit excessive to me.”
