Anguissa stays, Juan Jesus doesn’t. Meret, real trust? Loans and deadlines Naples: the point

Six months before the end of the season, Napoli finds itself with four players linked to the Neapolitan club by a contract expiring on June 30th. It’s about Alex Meret, Frank Anguissa, Juan Jesus and Nikita Contini.

For Anguissa (at worst) the option will be activated. Not for Juan Jesus
André-Frank Zambo Anguissa will remain at Napoli well beyond this season. The Cameroonian midfielder is only formally expiring because in the current contract there is an option for two further seasons, but the club is already negotiating a new agreement with his entourage also to reward him given his consistently high-level performances.
Same contractual situation, but different evaluations for Juan Jesus. The Brazilian defender also has an option for two further seasons, but in this case his farewell in June is a foregone conclusion.

Alex Meret, the negotiation is open
The only uncertain negotiation at Napoli is the one with the current starting goalkeeper. For months Giovanni Manna and Federico Pastorello have been discussing the new contract of the class of ’97. The parties, one meeting after another, reiterate positions of great trust but the new contract does not yet exist. And Meret, as a free agent, is a goalkeeper who tempts many. Third goalkeeper Nikita Contini is also out of contract: at the end of the season the player and the club will evaluate whether or not to move forward together.
