Pianese, Polidori: “A very positive year. Playing at Curi will be exciting”

Pianese’s defender Mattia Polidori commented on his team’s season: “It was a very positive year which first saw us win the Serie D championship and then saw us protagonists of a super first round in Serie C. Perhaps unexpectedly, we did very well, but we have to continue like this. We know that it will be difficult, that many teams will strengthen themselves in view of the second round, but we have to continue to work like this, thinking game by game.

The match in Arezzo saw our opponents not have any extraordinary opportunities, if we take away the two goals. We should look at dubious episodes such as penalties or expulsions. Then, unfortunately, when we returned to the pitch we conceded two goals which were a blow. Yet, with an impressive fog and one man less, the first time with the new coach, the performance was positive.

Playing at Curi will be exciting. For me, who grew up in Perugia, who lived there for 11 years and who grew up in my city’s team, it will be nice to return to play in what is an important stadium. They are a very good team, and even if they may not seem to be in their best form I expect a great match in a beautiful setting.”
