Frosinone, Greco: “I appreciate Mantova’s philosophy. It will be a very complicated match”

“On Saturday we will definitely have more game plans that we can exploit considering that we have guys who can do a lot of different things throughout the game. Based on what we train in these last few days we will try to make the best choices and I don’t rule out changing something in the construction of the game.” The Frosinone coach Leandro Greco he speaks like this in the press conference in view of the match against Mantova on Saturday, then focusing on the opponents as can be read on the Ciociaria club’s website: “Mantova has a very clear structure. They have courage and a gaming philosophy that I really appreciate. It’s a very complicated game. Not knowing the internal dynamics, I can’t give you an answer, but certainly the fact that they score points at home is a factor that makes us raise our attention threshold.”

In seventeen matches Mantova has never fielded the same lineup. For those who have to prepare for the race like you, how do you deal with this additional difficulty?
“We regulate ourselves by taking note that everyone in Mantua participates, but the Serie B championship also requires this. They have a very clear structure where we all recognize ourselves within them. Certain characteristics change, but it is their gaming philosophy that gives them their own imprint.”

Mantova now has many doubts about the choices of players to field. What type of reasoning do you make for the choices you make?
“In an unclear situation like this, I focus on what we can control. Trying to raise the level of what we have already proposed in these matches. Obviously taking into account that Mantova is a team that has done very well within friendly walls. Obviously we go there with great humility trying to impose our way of being.”

Could Canotto play in a match like this?
“Gigi is here. It has functional characteristics for us. Both from the start of the game and during the game in progress. We’ll see what to choose, considering that tomorrow we also start with Pecorino and Tsadjout. We’re back to being in large numbers and so I’ll finally find myself making choices.”

How did the team respond mentally after the home defeat against Sassuolo?
“It’s usually the games that are won in a ‘dirty’ way that keep your attention level high. Matches played and lost like against Sassuolo (which bring compliments) can paradoxically lower your concentration threshold. Luckily this wasn’t the case because I have guys who know the difficult moment we are experiencing. Saturday will be a complicated match. Our journey is still long.”
