Sassuolo took to the field today at 5.15pm to challenge Sampdoria at the Mapei Stadium in the match valid for the 16th matchday of Serie B. Cas Odenthalplayer of the neroverdi, commented on the match in the press conference. Here are his statements collected by sassuolonews.net: “We expected a difficult match and in the first half I think it was, it was a dirty match, then after 60 minutes we have a lot of quality and we scored more goals and so the match became easier but it wasn’t an easy match.”
First goal with the Sassuolo shirt: what emotions do you feel?
“I’m very happy with the goal scored, also because my dad is here and normally he’s not here because he’s in Holland. It was also an important goal because after the 2-0 we had more space, more confidence, and thank goodness we scored 4 -5 goals”.
There is a lot of competition in your role. How do you like it here? Do you see any differences between the promotion with Como and this year?
“It’s difficult to tell you a big difference. The championship is very difficult, with Como it was very difficult, we went to Serie A in the last match. Now we’re first but in Serie B every match is very difficult. Let’s move forward match after match and see what happens.”
What are your hopes for the national team? Can you tell us a little about Dutch football?
“I am proud of Dutch football. I hope to be able to combine Dutch football with Italian football so I become a strong footballer.”
In what way was the match difficult because it seems like you dominated…
“Sampdoria play in a direct manner, they play a lot of long balls and anything can happen on these balls. In Serie B the details are very important, maybe it seems like we dominated but after the 1-0 it’s a different game.”
