Ruben Buriani gave an interview to the notebooks of ‘TuttoMercatoWeb.com’. The former AC Milan player analyzed the current moment of devil Rossoneri, team fresh from the defeat against Atalanta: “The Scudetto objective is gone, the table says this. Luckily the group in front is not unattainable, there is still the Champions League objective and the championship is long. I hope that Milan regains the ranking it deserves, even if there are too many ups and downs at the moment.”
In another passage, Buriani commented on Paulo Fonseca’s very harsh outburst at the end of the match in Bergamo: “I don’t know why he said these things. I’ve already noticed a certain nervousness on his part on other occasions, perhaps also due to some refereeing decisions, but blaming the match director seems excessive to me.”
Still on the Portuguese manager, he added: “I believe that a coach needs time, then it is clear that the Milan fans, being demanding, are not happy. I personally like it, but I know well that when results are lacking, it is the coach who is first responsible. And it must prove capable of breaking out of the impasse.”
Finally, a lapidary judgment on Theo Hernandez’s poor performance: “He is not a defender, therefore he finds it very difficult to defend. He is more of an attacking winger and needs help, which – concludes Buriani – is not always done”.
