One-two Empoli
From the first minutes Empoli made themselves preferable to the home team. Even when D’Aversa loses Pellegri, who is replaced in the 10th minute due to a knee injury; inside Colombo. Verona are not in the game and so the Tuscans take advantage of it, allowing themselves a deadly one-two in the name of Sebastiano Esposito: a brace in the space of three minutes which directs the match and sends the team into a rage Bentegodi.
The goal festival begins
Colombo won the game and from then on the goals poured in at half-time. At half an hour Cacace already tries to close the score, making it 3-0 also thanks to a deflection. But a few minutes later it is Verona’s striker, Tengstedt, who tries to reopen the dispute. The attempt, however, was in vain, because even before the referee’s final whistle Colombo made it 4-1 and re-established the three-goal gap. It’s getting really tough for Verona.
