Carragher on Manchester City’s crisis: “Guardiola doesn’t have the tools to get out of it”

There is no shortage of criticism after the knockout of Manchester City against the Juventus on the sixth day of the Champions League (the seventh in the last 10 matches in all competitions). One of the strongest comes from Jamie Carragherformer defender of Liverpool and the English national team, through the microphones of CBS:

“What we are witnessing is a huge crisis – explains the Englishman -. Something unbelievable. The greatest manager, perhaps of all time, has no answers to get out of it. He has tried different things, different game systems, even changing the position of the players, but without results. Guardiola is good and is really struggling to understand how to revive the team, but he is having a hard time. He has never experienced a situation like this in his career and, therefore, he has not experience in this regard. He has nothing to fall back on and hold on to, because in his past there are only successes.

There are probably many coaches around the world who look at Pep with a wry smile on their face. They’re not enjoying what he’s going through, let’s be clear, but they’re thinking: ‘Finally Guardiola is going through something that we’ve all gone through at some point in our careers’.”
