On the hunt for prospective reinforcements for next season, Bayern Munich has taken an interest in Tom Bischof (19 years old) from Hoffenheim, according to what he revealed today SportBild. The Bavarian club has been following the young midfielder for years, and there have already been contacts between Christoph Freund and the TSG management.
Bischof’s contract with Hoffenheim expires in the summer, which would make him available on a free transfer. This interest confirms Bayern’s attention to team management costs, a central aspect of the club’s new strategy. Bischof has been linked to the German club since 2015, the year in which he started in the youth team in blue and white. He made his Bundesliga debut in 2022 and, in the current season, has established himself as a starter in the midfield of Matarazzo’s team. Bischof has also been in the sights of Bologna in the past: A multifaceted midfielder of German nationality, born in 2005, who is capable of playing both in the heart of the midfield, in a more midfield role, and a few meters further forward, on the attacking midfield line.
At the same time, Bayern continues its transfer attempts for Bayer Leverkusen central defender Jonathan Tah. The transfer, blocked last summer due to a difference in economic valuation (25 million requested against the 20 offered), remains an important objective for sporting director Max Eberl.
