The 17th round of Serie C ended last night with 4 postponements: a clear and very important victory for Pontedera which brutally stopped SPAL’s pursuit of salvation, fresh from three victories in a row, resulting in a huge poker game with five different signatures. In the other match of Group B, Virtus Entella snatched a precious point away at Arezzo by playing for over a half with ten men for the red castles: Guccione’s opener shortly after the half hour was answered by Franzoni in the 70th minute.
In Group C, however, a clear victory for Sorrento over a Giugliano in crisis – only one point in the last four – which allows the Rossoneri from Campania to climb to fourth place. In the other match, however, Monopoli and Avellino were ‘satisfied’ with one point each with Yabre responding to De Cristofaro.
