The disaster of last season is now known to everyone, not only did the championship (Serie C, Group) culminate in relegation to Serie D, but the historic club even went bankrupt. Which brought theAlessandria not to even register in the fourth series, but to even start again, with a new company name, from the Promotion championshipwhich currently sees her in fourth place in the Group D standings, -2 from the top. But, above all, still evolving.
Last week, in fact, net of the 1-1 home draw against Arquatese, was not the simplest, because it led to the dismissal of coach Mattia Greco, replaced by Alberto Merlo, and his farewell to the General Director Lorenzo Mandrino.
To explain the whole moment experienced, with an eye to the future, was the president of the club (now called Forza e Coraggio Alessandria) Rocco Dinisi: “It was a tough week because these choices are thought out, studied and are not taken lightly, especially with people with whom we have collaborated for a long time – we read on radiogold.it -. These are painful but necessary decisions and must be taken when the gap between the intentions of the parties involved increases. Ambitions, as well as tension and pressure, are high and some can handle them better than others. All the choices we make are aimed at achieving our only goal: bringing Alessandria back to the professional ranks.
We are in a transformation phase. At the moment the Board of Directors of FC Alessandria is made up of me, Vincenzo Scarcella, Paolo Tonon and Lorenzo Mandrino. We will speak with the latter and with Paolo Ravera, who resigned from the role of Sports Director this week to define their positions, for which we have not yet thought of replacements. This Board of Directors is supported by a Board of Directors made up of myself, Luca Davini, Francesco Gambino, Ciro Cassaneti and Emanuele Bellingeri. In this body we discuss and try to make as few mistakes as possible for the good of FC Alessandria.
Negotiations initiated for new members to join the company? Not at the moment, but several entrepreneurs or other figures have approached us who want to lend us a hand as sponsors or from an operational point of view. I want to reiterate that we are open to anyone who shares our thoughts and our goal.”
