The rules: who advances to the round of 16?
The top eight teams in the championship phase will automatically qualify for the round of 16, while the teams ranked from 9th to 24th will compete in direct elimination play-offs with home and away matches to fill the round of 16 grid. Teams finishing 25th or lower will be eliminated without access to the UEFA Europa League.
