23.09 – It’s 5 defeats out of 5 in the Champions League for Leipzig after the 1-0 defeat at San Siro this evening by Inter. A total disaster in the European countryside. Soon the comment of Marco Rose, coach of the German team, in the press conference. Follow on TUTTOmercatoWEB.com the direct text.

11.40pm – The press conference begins.

You have two games against teams that are not at your level. Do you abandon all hope of qualification?
“We know the situation. We have nine points available and with nine points we can make the playoffs so let’s see what happens.”

How do you comment on the injury problem?
“Yes, but we can’t do anything about it, this is life. I have very important values, I believe in God and in my boys, in the club and in our path. We have many problems in terms of injuries. I consider our situation that it shouldn’t be minimized. And forgive me if during the match I’m no longer a 19 year old, like Ouedraogo who had just recovered, even though he was hot he broke down again. We have one more player less, if you allow the pun.”

The choice to include Vermeeren later?
“There are positions in which I have no problems. Mathieu has made an important development, Kampl has quality with the ball at his feet. A player who has great form, I chose him and he gave us a great hand. Haidara an extra factor for one-on-one tackles, he is in great form. We have a lot of commitments and we are satisfied with his development. We are convinced that we are focusing on him, at 19 years old there are different expectations from other players.”

Orban has seen improvements. Do you agree?
“The new turf could have caused some problems. Regarding our first half we could give the ball away less quickly, two or three balls we had to work better and play better in defence. On the own goal maybe it’s part of the situation, but I think that in the second half we showed a great opportunity and we returned with a different gear on the pitch. We looked for easy solutions. My boys are making steps forward, we have to stick to this, we are growing and it will help us.”

How did you play in the first hour?
“I was a bit surprised, a couple of television channels whether I was satisfied with the first 60 minutes or not. It was a particular moment. But we are far from a speech of pride or anything else, let’s see what the situation is and from many points of view we are ready to work on the little things. I saw the team that I learned to respect, but sometimes other phases were worse too.”

Which of the two between Inter and Liverpool gives superior impressions?
“Here I am in Milan and I answer Inter, if I were in Liverpool you understand what answer I should have given. It’s not my job to say which is the best of the two. I’ve already said it, they have incredible qualities. With very ambitious objectives. Not we are capable of both, we still have to make our way.”

What is the direction for the next matches? What do you bring home? And what did you say to the team in the locker room?
“We knew what type of opponent Inter were. It’s an open book. We tried to correct a couple of things, we had to do something more in depth, we had to adapt a little more to the opponent, we had to try to show that we can go in attack. Today in the first half we still had a bit of difficulty making decisions and keeping the ball, in the second half they realized they performed better, but these were our ideas.”

Its captain Orban repeated that you have been patient. What about the Red Bull management?
“I don’t express myself from this (corporate, ed.) point of view. Internal discussions with Oliver to clarify that we are together, I’m always on the phone with him. Today before the match he was with us in the locker room. A constant exchange of information and you probably have more information than me. We’re in a simple situation and we’re cohesive and we want to get through it together.”

11.52pm – The press conference ends.
