Gasperini remembers the last Young Boys-Atalanta: “Muriel came in, didn’t touch the ball and scored”

Gian Piero Gasperini he has a vivid memory of the last time in Bern, where tomorrow he will be involved again against Young Boys, as happened just over three years ago (in a different context, that was the group stage, this year there is the ‘Championship Phase’). In an interview with the official channels of the Nerazzurri club, the Atalanta coach underlined a particular episode of that match: “Only three years have passed, in November 2021 we played here, that was already an important match. I remember that we were we were ahead and we almost lost it. I also remember Muriel who came in and without touching a ball first went to take the free kick and scored.”

How many things have changed since that match?
“They are two teams that have changed completely. They have 2-3 players left, with us just four, six if you count the whole squad. Sometimes we don’t notice it, but compared to three years ago everything has really changed.”

What game are you expecting?
“A difficult match. I saw the match against Inter and being able to put them in difficulty, both in terms of pace and play, is not easy. Inter struggled to express themselves as usual here and therefore I expect that from Young Boys There’s also synthetic here, we’re not used to it but we have to get used to it straight away because we can’t have any alibis.”
