Michele Cazzaro, after signing with Taranto, he made his debut on the bench against Benevento, his former team when he played. At the end of the home match which his team lost 2-0, he looked at the glass half full: “We played the game we had to play” – his words to OttoChannel – “Defending ourselves low was a choice, because against such strong teams we cannot we can certainly afford to play it on equal terms, also given the difference in points in the standings. We interpreted it well, we took the crossbar at the start, while I don’t remember any shots from Benevento in the first half; in the second half, however, they were good at exploiting it the episodes”.
For the promotion fight in group C, he has no doubts in expressing a preference: “I support Benevento: I was a Giallorossi player, I know the club and the president and that’s why my preference is for them. If I had to choose a team to promote, I would always say Benevento. However, the Serie C championship is long and complicated, so you have to see what happens day after day. For me, however, Benevento is the strongest.”
On the evidence of his, that they remain stuck in last place: “You shouldn’t get discouraged when things go wrong: it’s true in life and it’s also true in sport. I’m a man from the South and I have the predisposition to fight, so it’s easy for me to do that. Our problems have been known since the summer, start with the stadium: now we’ll see, but I don’t want it to be an alibi; the important thing is that they give us a pitch.”
