Luis Alberto: “Inzaghi never asked me to go to Inter. I won’t return to Italy”

One of the decisive coaches in the career of Luis Alberto it was without a doubt Simone Inzaghiwhich positively marked his adventure at Lazio. In the interview given to La Gazzetta dello Sportthe Al-Duhail midfielder returned to talk about the period he lived together with Formello: “Without him I would have returned to Spain. In 2017 I asked him to leave, but he opposed it”.

No arguments, never had problems with a coach who brought out his characteristics to the fullest: “He knew me. When I had a bad day
he invited me to go home. He is number one in managing people. He once sent a player home because he had a family problem. Give everything to someone who behaves like this. In Europe he is undoubtedly at the level of the big names and at Inter he has grown a lot.”

Closing with a background on the transfer market: “Has Inzaghi ever asked me to go to Inter? No, no (he smiles, ed.). I will never return to Italy, there is no other club outside of Lazio for which I would play. If I were to become a coach in the future, maybe yes, but my career as a footballer will end here.”

During his career, Luis Alberto played for 8 seasons with the Lazio shirt, wearing the Biancocelesti shirt 307 times and scoring 52 goals. In his palmares one Italian Cup and two Italian Super Cups.
