Pietro Pellegri he is one of those who many in the world of football have defined as predestined perhaps a little too soon, probably because he made his debut at 15 years and 280 days in Serie A, scoring a brace when he was 16. In the interview given to The Republicthe striker looked back on the last years of his career: “I played little due to physical problems and then I didn’t feel very good in France. I underwent two operations at Monaco: one for the pubalgia, one on the left adductor. I wear the scars, but they don’t hurt as much as the label of always being injured. The truth is that when I was young I didn’t know how to manage myself, I was in a period of growth for almost two years and it shows.”
After Monaco you went to Milan, would you make that choice again?
“Honestly, even then I wasn’t completely convinced. I wanted to return to Italy but I preferred another team. I still continued my training at Milan: I was in the dressing room with Ibrahimovic and Giroud, I learned a lot about how to train professionally. I have a folder full of lessons and experiences. If I went back, however, I wouldn’t make that choice again.”
Camarda became the youngest rookie ever. Do you feel like giving him some advice?
“I saw his match as a starter against Cagliari, he is a player with great prospects, he has quality. I would tell him to have fun and listen to the people who love him. They will be the most sincere with him.”
