Geoffrey Moncadawho arrived at Milan in 2019 from Monaco as Chief Scout, has held the role of Technical Director of the Club since the summer of 2023, working closely with the CEO Giorgio Furlani, the RedBird Senior Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the coach of the Prima Squad. The French manager gave an interview to MilanNews.itwhere he spoke about his role, the working methodology used at Milan, the process that leads to buying a player and all the new areas that his role as DT touches. These are his statements on the coming market:
Are you already starting to see what this Milan needs?
“Yes. We have already started talking to the various profiles. With Ibra, with Giorgio Furlani, with the coach, with Gerry Cardinale… We have already spoken. More or less we already know the profiles we want, but I think it will be more for June. Let’s start with the profiles that are missing, then make a shortlist.”
Can’t you tell the ones that are missing?
“No, not yet (laughs, ed.). In a little while yes, but if I speak now in November it will become difficult for us. Maybe in the next weekends I’ll go away to see these players, I’ll go with the scouts.”
What is the relationship with Ibrahimovic?
“We talk every day. See you at Casa Milan, in Milanello, let’s go and eat together. We have a good relationship, very direct. He wants to know things without wasting time, I like that. We are together every day.”
Do you also discuss which players to sign?
“Yes, he likes it too. Now I have opened a profile for him on a professional platform for data and video analysis, so he can see the players too.”
