New penalties in Group C and a recovery in Group B. The day of Serie C

Today Serie C saw two events in particular that concern it. On the one hand there was the decision of the National Federal Court to inflict a penalty on Turris and Taranto: four points were deducted from the Corallini team, while the Ionic team had six points deducted, as stated in the FIGC note:

The National Federal Court-Disciplinary Section has sanctioned Turris (Serie C, group C) with four penalty points to be served in the current sports season. Following an agreement between the parties (pursuant to art. 127 CGS), Antonio Piedepalumbo (sole director at the time of the events) was also sanctioned with two months of inhibition and Ciro Giardino (manager at the time of the events) was also sanctioned with four months of inhibition. Simone Onofrio Magliacano, Sole Mayor at the time, was acquitted. Turris had been referred following a report from Covisoc regarding the failure to pay IRPEF withholdings and INPS contributions regarding emoluments, including early retirement incentives, due to members, employees and collaborators involved in the sector by the deadline of 16 October. sports related to the months of July and August 2024.

The National Federal Court-Disciplinary Section chaired by Carlo Sica sanctioned Taranto (Serie C group C) with six penalty points as part of proceedings no. 92 and 93. Ten months of inhibition for Salvatore Alfonso, Sole Director at the time of the events, and for Massimo Giove, special prosecutor at the time of the events. Taranto had been referred following a report from Covisoc regarding the failure to pay by 16 October 2024 the net emoluments, Irpef withholdings and INPS contributions due to members, employees and collaborators in the sports sector relating to the monthly salaries of July and August 2024. As part of procedure no. 89 (failure by the company to comply with the commitments undertaken with a specific declaration when issuing the National License 2023-24), Taranto was also sanctioned with a 5,000 euro fine. Thirty days of inhibition for Salvatore Alfonso”.

The other noteworthy event was the recovery in Group B of the match between Pescara and Milan Futuro which saw the Rossoneri sink against the league leaders (final result 4-1). Baldini’s team thus returns to plus six on the second and continues its march towards promotion to Serie B, while the Rossoneri remain at the bottom of the table.
