Faggiano: “If Genoa thought about changing Gilardino they should have done what Lecce did”

The manager Daniele Faggianocurrent sporting director of Catania, spoke to New daily newspaper of Puglia about the moment that Lecce is experiencing, ready to experience the beginning of the adventure with the new technical guide Marco Giampaolo, with whom Faggiano has already worked at Sampdoria.

Faggiano begins by talking about the Abruzzo coach currently in charge of the Giallorossi: “I had a great time with him. Marco is a real, authentic person. Some results penalized him then, but it wasn’t his fault, unfortunately there were different currents. He had clear ideas, which sometimes didn’t coincide with those of others he strongly believes in his stringent logic, he considers himself a fundamentalist but this did not do him any good. I called him and continue to call him mister or Marco”.

The manager then moves on to another club that has just changed technical leadership, that Genoa passed from Alberto Gilardino into the hands of Patrick Vieirawho only started in his new role yesterday: “I know that in the past he had had some problems with Balotelli in Nice, who knows… His dismissal certainly came like a bolt from the blue. If they had this idea they could have implemented it , as Lecce did at the start of the break.”
