After the physical problem suffered with Turkey and the return to Italy, Hakan Calhanoglu underwent the instrumental tests necessary this morning to clarify the extent of his injury. Injuries have been ruled out – he reports Sky Sports – while the slight elongation of the left adductor was confirmed, as found after the match between Türkiye and Wales.
In the afternoon therefore the player will work separately and it is not excluded that he will also be able to support part of the work with the group: if this were the case – always reports Sky Sports – tomorrow he could also be called up and be on the bench in Verona for Saturday’s match. Otherwise, Inzaghi won’t risk it and Calhanoglu will be available again in the Champions League on Tuesday evening against Leipzig. Calhanoglu stopped on Saturday 16 November, when he suffered a muscle strain during the first half of the Nations League match between Türkiye and Wales. The midfielder had come out at half-time to avoid risks: “I felt it pinching”, he declared immediately after the match.
Simone Inzaghi also has to deal with three close matches, all within the space of a week: after the away match against “Bentegodi” (Saturday 23 November) and the Champions League match at San Siro against Leipzig (Tuesday 26), the Nerazzurri they will return to the field for the away match against Fiorentina on Sunday 1st December.
