Matteo Guendouzi he is proving to be one of the strongest midfielders in our championship. The excellent start to the personal season coincides with the surprising start of Lazio and today the French midfielder, fresh from commitments with his France, spoke about it to the notebooks of La Gazzetta dello Sportfocusing on the team objectives: “We must keep our feet on the ground because we are still in the early stages and we have very strong opponents both in Serie A and in Europe. Having said that, we must continue like this without setting limits. It’s better not to talk about goals, but I’m honest: I’d like to return to the Champions League, so we have to try to get to the top four. It won’t be easy, because in Italy there are at least 7-8 teams that can aspire to that goal and furthermore the ranking is very short. But we showed that we can compete.”
On his journey in the league and in Europe Guendouzi expresses himself like this: “Both in the Europa League and in the Italian Cup we can have our say. With Arsenal I won the FA Cup and lost a Europa League final, they are fantastic experiences. I would love to win a trophy with Lazio this year or in the next few years. I would be very happy for the fans who follow us everywhere and obviously also for the club.”
The return to the national team? Guendouzi talks about it during the interview: “Deschamps is a former midfielder who played in Italy, he knows well how difficult Serie A is and how much you improve tactically. France is the best national team in the world, it’s a childhood dream come true.”
