All the verdicts from the Nations League group stage, from League A to League D

The nine matches played tonight closed the group stage of a Nations League which provided emotions, confirmations and many surprises. We will return to the field in March for the quarter-finals of League A and the many playoffs/playouts. Here are all the verdicts after the last day, which decreed the promotion of the Czech Republic and Wales to League A and the relegation of Albania to League C:

League A

First classified and qualified for the quarter-finals as seeds: Portugal, France, Germany and Spain.

Runners-up and qualified for the quarter-finals as unseeded: Croatia, Italy, Holland and Denmark.

Third place and in the playout against the runners-up of League B: Scotland, Belgium, Hungary and Serbia.

Fourth place and relegated to League B: Poland, Israel, Bosnia and Switzerland.

League B

First classified and promoted to League A: Czech Republic, England, Norway and Wales.

Runners-up and in the playoffs against the third-placed teams in League A: Ukraine, Greece, Austria and Türkiye.

Third place and in the playout against the runners-up of League C: Georgia, Ireland, Slovenia and Iceland

Fourth place and relegated to League C: Albania, Finland, Kazakhstan and Montenegro

League C

First classified and promoted to League B: Sweden, Romania, Northern Ireland and North Macedonia

Second-placed and in the playoffs against the third-placed teams in League B: Slovakia, Kosovo, Bulgaria and Armenia.

Best fourth-placed teams and in playouts against League D runners-up: Latvia and Luxembourg

Worst fourth-placed and relegated to League D: Azerbaijan and Lithuania

League D

First classified and promoted to League C: San Marino and Moldova

Second place and in the playoffs against the two best quarters of the League C groups: Gibraltar and Malta
