Giaccherini: “Italy, an accident with France. Scudetto? I say Inter”

Interviewed by today’s edition of Corriere della Sera, Emanuele Giaccherini he spoke about the Italian championship: “Inter is the strongest, best equipped and most organized team. I was born and raised in a family of Nerazzurri fans, until I played I only looked at my team. After that let’s say I let myself go. Will Napoli have a chance? I don’t think so. Antonio is working towards this but it takes time, they have a strong squad but not a very long one, I honestly didn’t expect to see them first. It must also be said that they picked up a few points with a bit of luck.

Spalletti is the right man for the national team? Italy has finally taken the right path, the one not seen at the European Championship, prepared by throwing many concepts and ideas into the cauldron, only creating confusion. The coach is a great coach, he understood the mistakes he made and now he has all the time. The defeat against France is just an accident.”

The former Juventus winger then told the coach Antonio Conte: “It’s what everyone probably thought, even when I went to Juve. The big name in the end was Giaccherinho. As for his and my relationship, I think that having told him to not the first time, then he got stubborn, a bit like when a boy wants a girl and she rejects him. He insists until he wins her over.”
