Bianchi on Napoli-Roma: “Ranieri was the right choice. Conte? You don’t win that much by chance”

During the interview granted to today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sportthe double ex of the match between Naples and Rome Ottavio Bianchi commented: “Conte? You don’t win by chance, much less do you win so much and everywhere without having the depth of Conte. He has demonstrated what he is capable of doing, in the most diverse conditions, in the most distant environments. He has the advantage of not playing the Cups, which allows him to work as he likes and make the most of the week. Then he has men who give consistency to his theses: the ideal fusion.

Should Roma get back up? Ranieri knows life, death and miracles of the club and beyond. The ranking is a liar, I am not able to say why it fell into this situation, but the choice was the right one: a great coach, welcomed with enthusiasm and familiarity by the fans who see themselves in him. Maybe no flights of fancy will be allowed, but it will get out of there quickly.”

The former coach then focused on what the match between the Neapolitans and the Giallorossi entails: “Naples was my home, I arrived there as a footballer when I was a kid, my daughter was born there, I coached and won the Scudetto and the cups with the greatest of all, Maradona, I became a manager, I found my closest friends off the pitch, I experienced Rome less but enough to be fascinated by it, as it should be.”
