Colpani: “Fiorentina takes another leap. Palladino has carte blanche, I will never stop thanking him”

From Galliani to maestro Raffaele Palladino, who accompanied him by the hand between Atalanta, Monza and now Fiorentina. Andrea Colpani in the interview granted to Gazzetta dello Sport he wanted to thank those who allowed him to explode and express himself at today’s levels: “Am I his pupil? It doesn’t weigh on me, in fact it’s a reason to give 110% for him and Fiorentina. The coach lives for this, he’s incredibly hungry, he wants to coach and win. He transformed me in Monza. I was a midfielder, Palladino brought me closer to the goal, leaves me free to try and help me in defence, because first of all we must not concede goals.”

He then explained his choice to move to Fiorentina: “When he found out he was coming to Florence, he asked me if I would like it… I told him “mister, you have carte blanche”. I will never stop thanking him”. And on decision to abandon Monza he didn’t hesitate: “Monza is still home. I lived there. Four wonderful years. But it was right to make the extra leap, to find a different stimulus, to be able to play in cups. It’s the right step.”

On the compactness of the groupthe union that works, has immense value for Colpani: “It’s really like that here. We arrive in the morning and there’s no desire to go home, there’s the games room. Table tennis with Bove who is reaching the levels of Donati at Monza… We ride the wave, but with our feet on the ground. We have less individuality, but mentality and unity. Inter are the strongest of all, Napoli are a threat, like Atalanta Gasperini who can be the Nerazzurri’s toughest rival.”
