Vagnati on a mission in Holland. And the Ferencvaros striker is also in Torino’s sights

Davide Vagnati he flew to Holland: new talks are at stake with the Ajax management and the vision in Amsterdam of the match between Holland and Hungary for the Nations League. It’s a given that Torino needs to strengthen in January – he underlines Tuttosport – the two key roles in the viewfinder have already emerged, the two priorities of the next transfer market: a center forward and a left wing player.

But it was more than anything else the challenge between the Dutch and Hungarian national teams that interested Vagnati in Amsterdam. Viewed by the Turin director in particular the Hungarian center forward, Barnabas Varga, 30 years old, owned by Ferencvaros since the summer of 2023. Last season, which ended with the championship victory, he became top scorer in his homeland for the second time in a row with 20 goals in 24 appearances, replicating the individual success of the year before wearing the colors of another Hungarian team, the Paks (26 goals in 31 matches). This season Varga has made 9 league appearances, 7 of which as a starter, with 2 goals and an assist.

The market value fluctuates around 3 million, a figure that could give wings to Vagnati’s hopes for January. Varga thus joins other profiles already followed by the director, who remains waiting to precisely understand President Cairo’s intentions.
