Carrarese, Calanro: “So far we have lacked results. Market? Shared assessments”

Guest of the columns of PianetaSerieB the technician of Carrarese, Antonio Calabrotook advantage of the break in the cadet championship for national team commitments to take stock of the situation on his team’s experience as newly promoted players:

“For me, the results were lacking more than anything else. It’s obvious that the category jump exists, but our real difficulties were logistical ones: we couldn’t train in our stadium, we weren’t guaranteed a normal daily routine made up of habits, gym and locker room. We were good at not getting demoralized, because we were aware that we could pay a price by confirming many elements from the previous year. The performances kept us positive.

It is obvious that for you professionals it was legitimate to imagine that we would encounter great difficulties and would be among the main candidates for relegation. We, however, know the goodness of the elements available: Illanes-Coppolaro-Imperiale were a trio that did very well last year and put us in a position to think about focusing on them also for the B team. Oliana is completing well the department and in the future Guarino and Motolese will also have playing time because they are strong.”

In view of the transfer market, he then explains: “The club has clear ideas, from the managers to the president. I didn’t arrive by directing towards my methodology, because it was already an integral part of the club. They always wanted a capable and proactive team , so I’m calm. They are the right skills so I didn’t deal with the transfer market in the summer and I won’t do it in January. This doesn’t mean that there haven’t been shared assessments, but that the last thing on my mind is worrying about a job that the management does very well.”
