From the Brunori case to the disappointing Le Douaron. The goal crisis must be resolved at Palermo

Matteo Brunori, Thomas Henry as central points, Federico Di Francesco, Francesco Di Mariano, Lorenzo Insigne and then the new Stredair Appuah and above all Jeremy LeDouaron which with the four million euros spent by Palermo to snatch him from Brest – a team that qualified for the Champions League – was the most expensive purchase in Serie B, even exceeding the total budget of several clubs.

On paper the attack should be the least of the problems for the Rosanero, but in practice things are very different. Only Insigne, top scorer with four goals, is in fact performing at a level so much so that he has already doubled his tally from a year ago, while the others are currently a disappointment.

The bomber and captain Brunori probably pays for a break with the environment, born after some declarations at the end of last year on the pressure of the squarewhich seemed to have been reassembled after a summer in which the attacker always seemed to be on his way out. Evidently this didn’t happen and the class of ’94 turned from being a driving force into a big misunderstanding, often ending up on the bench despite the fact that the performance of the Frenchman Henry was certainly not exciting and that the other transalpine Le Douaron is currently one of the greats disappointments with still zero goals to his credit and a series of performances not up to his rating.

A crisis, the offensive one, which must be resolved quickly to avoid experiencing another interlocutory year and once again postponing the assault on that promotion to Serie A which is the company’s goal. And who knows if this break could be useful for coach Dionisi to revitalize a department that is so strong but ineffective until now.
