Italian, January transfer window, the renewals of Sartori and Di Vaio. Fenucci talks about Bologna’s strategies

Claudio Fenucci, CEO of Bologna, took stock of the team’s situation and the prospects for the January transfer market. “Sartori and his team are observing players and if anything we will be prepared, but for now we have not planned anything,” declared Fenucci. Despite the constant injuries, the club feels satisfied with the current squad, which has proven to be largely sufficient to face the difficulties. Fenucci then added that “there will be no important players leaving in January” and that, if necessary, the team could be strengthened, but at the moment there are no planned movements. The priority is therefore to maintain the current group and work to further improve the team, without major revolutions.

Regarding the renewals, Fenucci underlined the importance of continuity in the management, speaking about the relationship with Giovanni Sartori and Marco Di Vaio. “We have always favored continuity and with Sartori and Di Vaio the relationship is one of mutual satisfaction,” he explained, adding that the contracts of the two managers will be renewed in the coming months. Bologna’s strategy is clear: to focus on stable and long-lasting management, which can guarantee a long-term project, with a solid work base, both on and off the pitch. The management is convinced that keeping Sartori and Di Vaio is essential to continue building a competitive Bologna.

Fenucci then also touched on the topic of the new Dall’Ara stadium, recognizing the difficulties linked to the realization of the project. “Without government intervention on stadium redevelopments with a view to 2032, it is difficult to complete a project born before Covid,” he admitted. At the moment, the issue is linked to finding the necessary resources, but the club is confident in the possibility of carrying forward the restructuring. Regarding the team, Fenucci acknowledged that the coaching change took time to adapt to, but that recent results are very promising. “The latest victories give us comfort and we are on the right path,” he said, highlighting how the team reacted positively to Vincenzo Italiano’s teachings. Finally, he praised Jesper Karlsson’s performance, underlining that his goal against Roma could mark a turning point in his season, “but let’s see if it was one of those episodes that can turn your adventure around or if it will remain a coincidence isolated”.
