After four years of management, the Platek family is officially concluding its experience at the helm of La Spezia. The transfer of ownership to the FC32, a company led by the Australian Paul Francis, It is now completed. Today, Tuesday 6 February, is the key day in which the transfer of corporate shares takes place, marking the beginning of a new phase for the Ligurian club under the Italian-Australian management of FC32.
With the closure of the agreement, the Platek family definitively leaves the scene. The resignation from the board of directors sanction the farewell of President Philip Raymond Platek JR, by Amanda Marie Platek, Caroline Aurora Platek and the owner Robert Michael Platek. In their place, the new board will see the entrance of Andrea Corradino, appointed president of the club. Instead, the name of the future vice -president remains to be defined.
Among the main candidates for vice -president there is Federico Mari, Chief Strategy Officer and co-founder of FC32. Mari, graduated from Bocconi and with experience as a FIFA consultant, is one of Francis’ trusted men and could take on an operational role in the new management. However, it is not excluded that the assignment can be entrusted to Andrea Gazzoli, current general manager and board member, whose confirmation seems more and more likely.
Continuity and stability with FC32
The new property aims to guarantee stability, confirming much of the current management. Among the priorities is the renewal of the Gazzoli contract, expiring in June, considered a key piece for the club’s future. The FC32 will officially start on February 23, when Spezia will face Catanzaro in the first game under the new management. In the meantime, Paul Francis will move to Italy shortly, settling in Milan, to close his new project closely.
