Andries Jonker he will leave his position as coach of the Netherlands women’s national team after the European Championship which will take place this summer in Switzerland. The Dutch Football Federation has in fact announced that the contract expiring at the end of the summer will not be renewed with Jonker who will therefore say goodbye after a World Cup, in which he reached the quarter-finals and was then eliminated by world champion Spain, and indeed a continental championship.
“We would like to express our appreciation and thanks for Jonker’s efforts in the last period. – explained the manager Nigel de Jong – Created a high-level sporting environment where new international players were given a chance. In these two and a half years the national team’s play has improved and we hope it can conclude its experience at the European Championship in the best possible way. We have the utmost confidence in this.”
