Monza-Fiorentina 2-1, the report cards: Maldini emerges, Beltran alone to react. Palladino in crisis

Final result: Monza-Fiorentina 2-1

MONZA (edited by Filippo D’Angelo)

Turati 6.5 – He almost neutralizes the penalty kick taken by Beltran, who mocked it with a powerful conclusion but touched by the Brianza goalkeeper. In general he is ready for Fiorentina’s attacks.

Izzo 6.5 – Monza’s goal comes precisely from one of their openings, exploited to the fullest by Ciurria. In the defensive phase it is a problem especially for Kean, who found practically nothing in front of him.

Pablo Mari 6 – Causes a penalty for a foul on Sottil but in the end Dionisi changes his mind and no longer grants the penalty to the Viola. He holds his own against Kean, who is disturbed by his pressure throughout the first half. He leaves the field only due to injury and with a yellow card on his shoulders. From 46′ Martins. 5.5 – The young man certainly has Bocchetti’s trust but he can do much more.

Coals 6 – His match was only affected by the very doubtful foul against Beltran which paved the way for the Viola penalty. Apart from this gray note, he offers a performance of character and useful for Monza to go and get the three points.

Pereira 7 – Extraordinary match for the red and white winger, who props up the 1-0 with a perfect save and makes the most of Ciurria. In the second half, he also provided the assist for Maldini’s second goal, who made excellent use of his cross.

Akpa Akpro 6 – Monza has found a fundamental player who made a truly significant contribution against Fiorentina. He almost always closes on Dodo and also performs well in all the other duels with his opponents. From 93′ Valoti sv.

Bondo 6.5 – Master of the Brianza midfield, the transfer rumors are not a coincidence at all. He works a lot in the defensive phase, builds and makes himself dangerous even with various shots from outside the area.

White 6 – Called into action in place of the injured Birindelli, he offers a performance of character which counts as a contribution to Monza’s first home victory in this championship. From 93′ Vignato sv.

Ciurria 7 – Lights up the night at the U-Power Stadium with an extraordinary conclusion, which gives Brianza the lead after a great build by Pereira. In the second half he lowers himself to being a full-back, always offering significant help.

Caprari 5.5 – He has some difficulty getting started and doesn’t offer much in the offensive zone. On the other hand, he sacrifices a lot and makes a good contribution in the defensive phase. Djuric from the 58th minute 5.5 – He brings Monza back but sensationally wastes the 3-1 opportunity after a great play by Maldini.

Maldini 7 – Even Luciano Spalletti, from the stands of the U-Power Stadium, will have appreciated his great match. His quality emerges in many phases of the match, with high-class plays that summarize his talent. He takes advantage of a perfect cross from Pereira, making it 2-0 after a great insertion. From 91′ Petagna sv.

Salvatore Bocchetti 6.5 – He celebrated his first victory in Serie A in the best possible way, leading Monza to victory after almost three months of starvation. Three fundamental points in the key to salvation, which open the return round for the red and whites in the best possible way.

FLORENTINA (edited by Dimitri Conti)

De Gea 6 – Two more balls to collect in the bag for him, again the feeling that he can’t do much more to avoid the worst.

Dodo 5.5 – Already from the first plays he tries it is clear that he is not having one of his best evenings. And in fact he does few, if any, good things.

Comuzzo 5.5 – Often impeccable in this championship, at Brianteo he was a bit surprised in the rebound that led to Ciurria’s first goal.

Ranieri 5.5 – The Fiorentina captain was found partially late in some individual and episodic circumstances. Overall, pretty good.

Gosens 6 – He finds his place as a starter in the back four, where he is the most dangerous and least distracted. Maybe out of position at 1-0.
From 68′ Parisi 6 – It certainly doesn’t change the fate of the match but still guarantees good propulsion on the left-handed flank.

Richardson 5 – Slow and staid, moving at a short trot does not make his team’s ball possession fluid and dangerous. Insufficient.
From 64′ Folorunsho 5.5 – Thrown into the fray in a moment of extreme difficulty, he doesn’t offer any noteworthy flashes. Perhaps it was unfair to expect them.

Adli 4.5 – The worst on the pitch, by far. Cloudy ideas in the control room, he is also clearly late (and too still) in the action of the 2-0 in Monza.

Colpani 5 – In his Monza he looks for the right spark to start writing a new path in viola. Not even the air of Brianza helps him.
From 68′ Ikone 5.5 – He has a good half ball near the baseline, stumbles and fails to convert it into a shot on target.

Gudmundsson 5 – Palladino’s choice falls on him, but only for a while. In which he also does good things, but misses a goal. And he gets rejected.
From 46′ Beltran 7 – The only one to give truly good sensations, his entrance does not change his face but brings the desire to believe in it. And the 2-1 goal.

Thin 5.5 – Two-sided performance: in the first half he was lively and the fittest of the team, but he forgot to contribute after the break.
From 75′ Kouame sv.

Kean 5 – Play hide and seek in the ninety minutes plus injury time at Brianteo. Not even a good ball, even guilty of selfishness in an initial counterattack.

Raffaele Palladino 5 – It’s impossible that a pinch of nostalgia didn’t pervade him before the match. Try not to think about it, also because there is Fiorentina to pull out of the recent results crisis. And yet yet another certification arrives in his Monza: this Fiorentina, if something doesn’t change, will no longer work.
