Today was an important day for Genoa. In the morning the board of directors meeting took place which appointed the new rossoblù president. Will be Dan Sucu to succeed Alberto Zangrillo, thus starting the 47th presidency in the history of the oldest company in Italy. The change in the saddle comes a month after the official purchase of 77% of the shares by the Romanian entrepreneur who took them over from 777 Partners.
The fourth foreign president
With the advent of Sucu, the Old Griffin thus has its fourth non-Italian president. The first was the Englishman Charles De Grave Sells, one of the founders, who remained in office from 1893 to 1897, then leaving the position to Hermann Bauer, of Swiss origins but Genoese by birth. The second was George Fawcus, also English, who remained in the saddle from 1899 to 1904. The last was the Argentine Juan Culiolo in office as President of the Council from 1936 to 1937 and as effective president from 1937 to 1941.
The new Board of Directors
The Board of Directors will therefore also change and will see the confirmation of Zangrillo, Blazquez and Ricciardella and the entry of new names. These are the members: Dan Sucu (President), Andres Blazquez (Executive Member), Flavio Ricciardella (Executive Member), Alessandro Giudice, Cosmin Golea, Razvan Rat and Alberto Zangrillo.
