Bad episode, the one that happened yesterday during Reggiana-Bari. The Algerian side of the red and whites Mehdi Dorval he was in fact the target of racist insults.
Referee Prontera suspended the match for more than five minutes and the game, at the Città del Tricolore stadium, resumed only after the speaker’s announcement inviting the public to behave civilly. At the end of the match, Bari wanted to express its closeness to the player through its social channels:
“There are things that have nothing to do with football and sport and it is unacceptable to still hear xenophobic and racist insults against athletes, often very young ones.
We are close to our Mehdi and to anyone, in any field and context, who still finds himself having to suffer discriminatory insults linked to the color of his skin, his religion, his gender, his physique or his sexual orientation”.
