Morrone: “Market? I expect major movements. Tragic-comic situation in Taranto”

TMW Radio

The president ADICOSP Alfonso Morrone spoke during the program “A Tutta C” broadcast on the frequencies of TMW Radio to comment on various topics relating to the third series of our football.

What do you expect from this transfer market session?
“I believe that in this session, from Serie A to C, there will be important movements because there are clubs that have started badly. For example, Roma comes to mind, which can now be relaunched with the derby, or in any case Juventus too. In Serie C, for example, there are clubs that made large investments in the summer and are behind in the standings. I think that compared to recent years there will be some important operations.”

A start to the season without penalties, was it a victory? On the current situation of Taranto and Turris?
“I was very happy to see that in the starting blocks everything was in order except for the Ancora situation. It was a good thing because we all remember a Serie C where practically everyone had a penalty. The work done has visibly improved the Lega Pro. As far as Taranto is concerned, some problems had already been visible since this summer but now we are in a tragicomic situation. They continue to lose matches and take penalties while off the field little is understood at a corporate level. The situation regarding Turris is very similar.”

Very complicated moment for Messina too
“I don’t want to criticize things I don’t know well. I speak in general and not only for Messina but I would like to say that in any case we must always remember what the funds are. Funds, in fact, always remember that they want to speculate. When I read about these, always on a general level, I’m always a little cautious. It’s already difficult to speculate in Serie A so I can’t imagine how difficult it is in Serie C.”

What should we expect from ADICOSP 2025?
“Tomorrow at 6pm we will hold the press conference to present women’s football, rewarding excellence. We will talk about very important topics and we will also focus on the commitment needed regarding important issues such as gender equality. Then there will be the closing of the transfer market which, being set for Monday 3 February, we will organize on the 30th and 31st. Having said this, the political mission of ADICOSP is to safeguard our category and I can tell you that the time has come to go to every single league to sign a collective agreement. It is shameful, in fact, that there are leagues without collective agreement. It would be important to be able to bring this agreement to amateur football too. It is provided for players and coaches and, therefore, it is right that it is also there for sports directors and secretaries because they are sports workers recognized by law.”
