Inter-Milan 2-3, the Super Cup report cards: Leao overwhelms Bisseck, Theo seems reborn

INTER-MILAN 2-3
(45’+1 Lautaro, 49′ Taremi; 53′ Theo, 80′ Pulisic, 90’+4 Abraham)

Inter’s report cards

Summer 5 – He has great responsibility for the goal that reopens the match. He redeems himself with a couple of decisive saves, but that mistake weighs heavily.

Bisseck 4.5 – All was well until Leao entered: the Portuguese entered on his scooter and from then on the German no longer understood anything.

De Vrij 6.5 – Taremi’s goal was born from his relaunch, giving Inter the illusion of a downward path towards success. Few frills and no real problems with Morata. (From 85′ Darmian sv ).

Sticks 5 – He sacrifices himself on Reijnders’ surefire shot: it would have been a difficult one-two to manage. He also goes crazy with the entry of Leao and loses Pulisic on the equalizing goal.

Dumfries 5.5 – Fresh from the brace against Atalanta, he lost the eternal duel with Theo, who in the final skidded away to provide the assist for the equalizer. Taremi does not collect an assist.

Stretcher 5.5 – Sombreros, closures, through balls for his teammates: the start is sumptuous, the only one truly worthy of a final on the pitch. Leao’s entrance makes him nervous and he leaves the evening. (From 85′ Frattesi 5 – Very bad on Abraham’s goal).

Calhanoglu 6 – Thirty-three touches of the ball: one per minute, without brightening up Riyadh’s evening. Then he says goodbye to the derby early. (From 34′ Asllani 5 – A step backwards compared to Turkish: this is nothing new. And in the finale he follows Leao’s definitive acceleration only with his eyes).

Mkhitaryan 5.5 – He takes part in the action of Lautaro’s goal at the end of the first half, he has on his conscience the foul on Leao which led to the free kick that made it 2-1 for the Rossoneri and therefore the subsequent comeback. (From 66′ Zielinski 5.5 – It doesn’t sting and doesn’t help his teammates keep the double advantage).

Dimarco 6 – With his left foot he gives everyone chills: to his fans for a couple of back passes made with condescension, to Maignan for a great shot from outside. (From the 67th minute Carlos Augusto 5 – He comes close to scoring, but suffers from Pulisic, who goes on to score).

Taremi 6 – Third as a starter alongside the Bullhe broke the deadlock at the start of the second half by escaping the Rossoneri offside line: it was his second goal in over 900 minutes. Missing the appointment with an encore on a more than tempting assist from Dumfries from the right: it weighs.

Lautaro 6 – A goal from Bull: control, defense of the ball, poisonous shot. He persists in the search for the second, after having imperceptibly but decisively deflected Theo’s punishment.

Simone Inzaghi 5.5 – His Inter holds up (well) for an hour and then melts at the first sun in Milan. There are some reflections to be made about the defence, not his own: Acerbi has been missing for a long time and the blanket is short.

Milan’s report cards

Maignan 7 – No real feat, at least considering his repertoire, except perhaps on Carlos Augusto. But he is decisive with his confidence and saves which are the basis of the Rossoneri’s comeback.

Royal 6.5 – Not a pretty sight from the front, but from the back it proves effective. (From 87′ Calabria sv).

Thiaw 5.5 – Taremi escapes from him on the offside line. Then he raises the wall, and his companions do the rest.

Tomori 5.5 – The usual defensive flaws, struggles on Lautaro and Taremi until Inter try.

Theo Hernandez 8 – He returns to the challenge against Dumfries and wins by a landslide: he bites the wing, he is the one who drags Milan to success. Goals and assists: is he reborn like the phoenix?

Musah 6 – Better in the current match like against Juventus. It challenges Dimarco and Bastoni, especially physically, but without making a difference. (From 77′ Abraham 7 – A goal, a heavy one, because Milan’s season can change).

Fofana 6.5 – Muscles and more: he passes the not at all obvious test of the Nerazzurri midfield.

Jimenez 5 – The action that led to Lautaro’s 1-0 was born from his incorrect disengagement. Never lively, never dangerous. (From 51′ Leao 8 – He doesn’t have the 90 minutes, Conceicao had said. He manages the 40 excellently: he enters and Milan becomes another team. Determinant).

Reijnders 6.5 – He escapes De Vrij in an elegant manner, but chokes the left-handed player. Bastoni neutralizes a moving penalty in the second half. (From 77′ Loftus-Cheek 6.5 – He accompanies the team’s comeback with his physicality).

Pulisic 7 – Already decisive in the semi-final, he scored again. Burn Bastoni with a shot, the 2-2 is decisive for triumph. With him and Leao at the top, Milan can still have fun.

Morata 6 – He never escapes De Vrij, Inter’s best. Precious during maneuvering.

Sergio Conceicao 8 – In tears at the end of the race. Two games, one trophy: not a bad result. It’s too early to say that he saved Milan from the quicksand, if good morning starts in the morning it’s difficult to imagine a brighter sun on the Rossoneri’s future.
