(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, 07 JAN – “The new stadium in Cagliari represents an objective to be pursued with great determination, we are now in its tenth year. I saw that project born with president Giulini and I hope that this will be the decisive year. We want to see the construction site by the end of the ‘year, possibly.” The Minister of Sport, Andrea Abodi, said thisthis morning in Cagliari.
“I think the agreement that was reached in recent days with the Municipality and the Region will give a significant, I would say decisive, boost. I believe that the commitment of all the players on the field, starting from president Giulini and Cagliari Calcio – added the government representative – can allow the achievement of this objective to which we are also trying to give support. This applies to Cagliari as well as to all the other projects that are developing in Italy.
“2025 should also be the year of the demolition of the old Sant’Elia. When the administrative process ends, the first act, before the reconstruction, is the demolition of the old stadium and then, one dayeven dismantling the temporary stage which seems to have become almost permanent. The will of the club is very strong and I am convinced that even with the support that we will give with a fund, with guarantees, with interest rate contributions, we will give a definitive acceleration to the infrastructure process”, concluded Abodi.
