Folorunsho at Fiorentina: the agreement is there. But first Napoli must replace him

Michael Folorunsho wants Fiorentina. Seven appearances and just over one hundred minutes played so far, the midfielder born in ’98 who renewed his contract in the summer until 30 June 2029 only to then find very little space in Antonio Conte’s Napoli is now looking for a club capable of guaranteeing him greater playing time also to regain the national team that he only enjoyed in the summer with a role as an extra in Germany.

For its part, Fiorentina sees in Folorunsho a player who, due to his characteristics, can replace Edoardo Bove and for this reason in recent days they have accelerated, reaching an agreement on the basis of a loan with right of redemption. Overall deal worth around eight-nine million euros.

What’s missing, then? Napoli needs to find a replacement first. Because Conte doesn’t have an alternative to Franck Anguissa in his squad today and today Pholus he is the only one whose characteristics are close (but not too close…) to the irreplaceable Cameroonian midfielder. One idea is Jacopo Fazzini, an Empoli midfielder who has been courted by Lazio for a long time. Another goal goes to Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, but the goal scored last night in the derby has already turned this scenario upside down.

In recent days, manager Massimo Taibi expressed himself as follows about Folorunsho at Fiorentina: “Is he a player who can remember Bove and replace him on Palladino’s board? Yes, physically they are different but they have a similar type of game. Bove also scored goals by inserting himself, he was in the right place at the right time. It’s a bit the same role which reads Folorunsho”.
