Lucchese, Gorgone: “The company takes care of the market, I focus on work in the field”

In view of the match against Gubbio, the Lucchese coach Giorgio Gorgone spoke to the club’s official channels: “We used the break to work with great intensity, focusing above all on the tactical aspects and on the preparation of the match against Gubbio. Every match is fundamental and must be faced with the utmost attention to detail. However it concerns the market, I spoke with the managers: they are the ones who manage these dynamics, while I think about the daily work on the field. To date, I focus on the players I have available, trying to make the most of every resource there will be opportunities to strengthen the team, they are welcome, but they must not distract us from the immediate objective: tomorrow’s match.

On the first round? Our journey so far has been mixed. We performed well, but unfortunately we left too many points along the way, like in the last match against Pineto. Episodes like this leave bitterness, but they must also serve as a lesson to us. This team must face every match with a positive anger, the one that comes from wanting to recover what we have lost. It is necessary to maintain high concentration, be more cynical in front of goal and never lose sight of our objective.

The championship is long and every match can represent a turning point. I want a hungry, determined team, capable of playing with intensity and a desire for redemption, regardless of the opponent we face. This is the attitude that will allow us to obtain the results we have set ourselves. It’s not enough to play well to get points: you need a spirit of sacrifice and the awareness that every detail can make the difference. The boys know this, and I am sure they will give everything to honor this shirt and achieve our goals.”
