Milan, Conceicao: “I found a humble team. I would have liked more time but that’s not an excuse”

Sergio ConceicaoMilan coach, in his press conference on the eve of the Italian Super Cup semi-final against Juventus, also spoke about his first impressions as Rossoneri coach: “I sincerely found a team that is humble, that wants to learn, that wants to understand what it has to as a coach. This is very important, it is the basis for doing a quality job in my opinion. We had little time to work but we were incisive to convey what was needed.”

What does it mean to start with a match like the one against Juventus?
“They are all different games, even thinking about my past as a footballer. Timing is what it is: if you had asked me if I would have wanted more time to work and all the players available, I would have said yes. But I knew it from when I have arrived and there must be no excuses: we must face Juve with our heads held high. There are still two training sessions left before the match, we want to be incisive in what we want to do. We must easily understand what is important for the match to try to win, for us it is fundamental”.

What do you think of Motta’s Juventus?
“It has many quality, young and hard-working players. Who understand: it is the team that has conceded the fewest goals in Serie A, they work compactly and we have to see what we can do to dismantle their defensive organization. I don’t want to trap talent, but we have to work together as a team. This is the only way football works.”
