From Guehi to Zubimendi, up to Musiala: Man City’s objectives to emerge from the crisis

Pep Guardiola has identified five players of particular interest to strengthen Manchester City during the January transfer window and address the crisis the team is going through. Among these, Marc Guehi, central defender of Crystal Palace, stands out, followed by the Brazilian midfielder of Newcastle, Bruno Guimaraes. Another name is that of Martin Zubimendi, a pillar of Real Sociedad, already appreciated by Guardiola for his qualities which could make him a worthy replacement for Rodri in midfield.

Manchester City are also looking at top-level talents such as Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen e Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich. However, Wirtz’s arrival appears complicated, as he seems destined to remain at his current club. As for Musiala, the situation is slightly more open: despite the contract expiring in 2026 and the slowdowns in negotiations for the renewal, the operation remains expensive. Furthermore, it would be surprising to see Bayern Munich sell such an important player in the current season. Reporting it is The Times.

This is what Pep Guardiola expressed himself in recent days: “Sometimes you think it’s easy to solve the problem, but sometimes it takes longer. I won’t give up. I want to be here and do it. The situation we have, we have to do it. Now we go to Leicester, it’s always been difficult, but now the players will be ready to do it. Try to be as calm as possible, read the situation and try to understand what we can do to improve in the next game. That’s what I want to try and everything I want to do.”
