Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign the 24-year-old winger Jadon Sanchocurrently on loan from Manchester United, communicating to the Old Trafford club his intention to make permanent the move to the London club which began on the basis of the loan this summer, as reported by Caught Offside.
According to the English portal, the Blues were initially willing to offer the England international a long-term contract, conditional on Chelsea finishing the current Premier League season in a position higher than fifteenth, a scenario which seems to be very likely at the moment . Furthermore, there is satisfaction within Chelsea with the performances of Sancho, who has scored two goals and provided five assists in 12 games in all competitions this season.
The London club is ready to spend as much as 30 million euros for him, as agreed last summer: Sancho began his football career in Watford’s youth team, where he stood out for his technical skills and ability to jump man. At 14, he moved to Manchester City for a fee estimated at around 66,000 euros, a significant sum for such a young player. Here he continues to grow, but his desire to have space in the first team leads him to refuse a professional contract. Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017 for around €8 million, taking advantage of his contract situation at Manchester City. Finally, he moved to Manchester United in July 2021 for 85 million euros but despite very high expectations, he struggled to replicate his performance at Borussia Dortmund.
