Amorim: “I’ll deal with the Rashford case. Garnacho? Mad at me and it’s perfect”

Tonight Manchester United will be involved in the League Cup against Tottenham, in the match valid for the quarter-finals of the competition. On the eve Reuben Amorim he made some statements in the press conference, starting from the match and also going into other topics. The question about Marcus Rashford could not be missed, after the interview in which the latter announced that he was ready for a new challenge and therefore to leave the Red Devils after practically twenty years: “It’s a difficult situation to comment on. If I give it a lot of importance, it will get big headlines and if I say it’s not a problem, then my standards are lowering. So I’ll deal with it, I understand that” .

The coach also focused on the other great exclusion from the Manchester derby, Alejandro Garnacho, spending positive words for the Argentine: “Garnacho is doing very well, he has trained very well. He seems a bit angry with me and that is perfect! I was really, really happy because I would have done the same. He is ready for this match” .

These are Rashford’s words, dating back to a couple of days ago: “Personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps in my journey.” Always with full respect for the club of his heart, the one in which he spent 20 years of his career, Manchester United: “When I leave – continues Rashford – there will be no hard feelings. You will not receive negative comments from me about Manchester United. I’m like that as a person. If I know that a situation is already bad I won’t go and make it worse. I’ve seen the way other players have left in the past and I don’t want to become part of that group. When I leave I’ll do it statement alone and I will make it.”
