Genoa has a new owner. As made official today by the Ligurian club itself, the 777 Partners era has in fact come to an end: the Romanian entrepreneur Dan Sucu has fully subscribed to the capital increase of 45,356,262 euros, of which 5,356,262 euros free of charge and another 40,000,000 euros paid on December 14th. The offer was approved by the Genoa Board of Directors and therefore Șucu – who obtained a share capital share of around 77% of the club (leaving the previous shareholders in the minority) – is officially the new owner.

“The Genoa Cricket and Football Club communicates that, following the resolution of a capital increase of 45,356,262 euros, of which 5,356,262 euros free of charge and another 40,000,000 euros paid on 14 December, on today the Board of Directors met and approved the offer presented by the Romanian entrepreneur Dan Șucu The Romanian entrepreneur, through his own vehicle investment, fully subscribed to the capital increase, obtaining in exchange a share capital share of around 77% of Genoa CFC, leaving the previous shareholders in the minority.
Șucu is a prominent figure in the international economic scene and president of the Confederația Patronală Concordia, the equivalent of Confindustria in Romania. The proposal, structured and highly strategic, will allow the capital increase to be fully subscribed, providing the club with the resources necessary to strengthen its sporting ambitions.
Born in Bucharest on April 25, 1963, Șucu is best known as the founder of Mobexpert, the largest furniture brand in Romania with over 2,200 employees. In addition to its leadership in the furniture sector, Șucu is a leading investor in the real estate sector and from 2022 also in the media sector, with a key role in the business daily Ziarul Financiar.
Passionate about sports and former owner of the Rapid Bucharest football club (of which he holds 90% of the shares), Dan Șucu has contributed to relaunching a reality with over 100 years of history, investing in the development of modern infrastructures and in the youth academy, which today has around 700 young athletes. Its approach is oriented towards enhancing football as a social tool, with the aim of involving thousands of children in sport and promoting the values of inclusion and personal growth.
The change of majority represents a new chapter for the oldest club in Italy, with the hope that Dan Șucu’s entry will bring economic stability and new investments to strengthen the team and infrastructure.
