An episode which, if confirmed, would be decidedly very serious, and which was reported by Livorno on the sidelines of the match on the Fulgens Foligno pitchmatch valid for the 16th day of Group E of Serie D and ended 2-2. As the Tuscan club announced, the Amaranth president Joel Esciua would have been the victim of an attack by some Umbrian fans, without even a steward to protect him.
The story was told, as can be read on livornotoday.it Labronico Marketing Manager Maurizio Laudicinowho spoke to a Tuscan TV station: “We were made to sit in the local fans’ sector and, until the final minutes, there were no particular problems. Faced with yet another refereeing episode that penalized us, the president I ‘dared’ to complain in a civil manner by waving: from there several Foligno fans approached and one of them, in a threatening manner, sat behind him. Another, however, threatened to smash my ass I took off my glasses to try to come between their fan and the president to somehow act as a peacemaker, but the police intervened and removed me. The president, at that point, found himself alone and , on the way to the changing rooms, he was kicked and pushed. How did he react to what happened? He was more than offended. He also had an argument with a Foligno manager, who, instead of apologizing for what happened. yes it is complained about the behavior of our fans, who, according to him, were guilty of not being polite at the ticket office.
We, throughout the race, did not see the shadow of a steward. What happened is very serious and could have been even worse. We were simply following our team in a peaceful and calm manner, but evidently the fact that the president dared to complain in a sacrosanct way towards the referee was considered an outrage. This is a shocking episode: this year we have been guests of many teams, with some of which there is even a certain rivalry, and we have never had any problems.
All this says a lot about the climate that has been created around us, as evidenced by the refereeing directions on the other pitches too: we haven’t had a penalty in our favor for nine days, despite spending 70% of every match in the opponent’s half of the field, while others are validated with goals scored with their hands. I don’t want to think of conspiracies, but certain arbitral appointments, as well as some episodes of obstructionism in the market, leave us perplexed.”
