Final result: Como-Roma 2-0
COMO (edited by Marco Pieracci)
Queen 6 – A thrill in the construction from the bottom, he is there because he is quite involved in the ball movement. He doesn’t have to make significant saves.
Van der Brempt 6.5 – Angelino forces him to stay low, calm in managing situations: he doesn’t get upset when he is attacked.
Goldaniga 7 – Defensive readings are always up to par, he leads the line while keeping his attention span high. In the second half he doesn’t turn Dovbyk around.
Kempf 6.5 – Resolute in his defensive interventions, he closely marks Dybala in his evolutions as a false nine: he commands respect with Teutonic rigidity.
Beard 6.5 – Full back more out of necessity dictated by the emergency than by choice, Roma pushes a lot on that side without completely breaking through.
From Cunha 6.5 – Comfortable in the new role carved out for him by Fabregas, he helps a lot at the back: he almost scores an own goal but it is a calculated risk. From 79′ Kone 6 – Physicality useful for the final assault.
Engelhardt 6 – Koné’s excessive physical power is a big problem, in some moments of the match he moves back to give greater protection to the defense. From 64′ Sergi Roberto 6.5 – Fundamental recovery, improves the quality of the dribble.
Strength 6.5 – Aggressive under pressure, he searches for and finds the position to make an impact between the lines: he just lacks a bit of clarity in his final choices. From 79′ Gabrielloni 7.5 – With his entrance he split the game: first goal in Serie A and escape on the counterattack with an assist for the second goal.
Peace 7.5 – It takes a while to get into the game, but once it does, it never comes out. Constant danger from a standstill and in play, he starts the advantage and returns to score. A show.
Fadera 6.5 – He engages in an exotic duel with Abdulhamid, the Saudi winger is one of the few in Serie A to match his speed. He comes close to scoring.
Belotti 6 –Tonic, confident after the goal found in the storm of Venice: he plays alone with his back to the goal, favoring the team’s comebacks. From 64′ Cutrone 6.5 – He comes in well-loaded and immediately comes close to scoring. He offers Gabrielloni the opening ball.
Cesc Fabregas 7 – So far he has received many compliments and few points in the standings, but this time he gets those too. And with full merit. Roma were put under control for the entire second half with a high pace and well-defined game principles. Gabrielloni’s move breaks the bank.
ROME (edited by Patrick Iannarelli)
Svilar 6.5 – The first save at the end of the first half on Paz, then he puts on his cloak to save a tarnished Roma, with few ideas: good on Da Cunha, he surpasses himself on Fadera’s conclusion. He is the superhero that Ranieri needs. He can’t do anything about the home team’s two goals.
Celik 5.5 – As usual, there is no lack of commitment: the Capitoline coach places him first in the back three, then puts him at full flank. It’s the usual I would like but I can’t, at least the ringworm isn’t missing.
Ndicka 5 – He finds himself at the center of the defense, trying to set up and do something. But in the second half the balls arrive from all sides, he does what he can until he makes a fatal mistake: he lets himself be anticipated into the small area by Gabrielloni. Red pencil, very red indeed.
Hermoso 5 – Called last minute due to Hummels’ forfeit, he spends a Sunday afternoon numb, without stimuli or initiatives. And he messes up too much, giving away a couple of scoring opportunities to the Larians.
Saud 6 – Confirms the good moment: sinks to the right, tries to provide depth, even helps to cover when the situation isn’t the best. From 62′ Mancini 5.5 – He wanted to take a breath, you need a bit of character to get out of a complex situation. But the ending is nightmarish.
Konè 6 – His physicality becomes a factor in the first half, then declines as the minutes pass: tiredness pays off, the lack of dynamism puts Roma’s maneuver to sleep.
Le Feè 5 – He loses a bloody ball, Como almost takes advantage of the inattention. It was supposed to give certainties to Ranieri, it only increased the doubts for a rather risky purchase. In numbers, but also in technical value. A blunder. From 62′ Pellegrini 5.5 – Away from the performance against Braga, he risks giving away a penalty to his opponents. He also collapses at the end.
Angelino 6 – There’s no shortage of game changes, nor any ideas. There is only one problem, they often don’t follow it: in the first half he proposes, in the second he thinks about the substance.
Saelemaekers 6 – In the end Roma’s only dangerous action is his, a volleyed conclusion that comes out by a matter of centimeters. It goes in fits and starts, it turns on when and how it can. But it’s not enough. From 62′ Pisilli 5.5 – One of the most proactive, but leaves too much space for the opponents on the first goal.
El Shaarawy 5.5 – He tries to move, not to give points of reference, but he succeeds with little or nothing. In the only movement to return, Roma scored, but started offside. From 46′ Dovbyk 5 – He has an alibi, he is served very little. For the rest he is too foul, he never finds the right position.
Dybala 5.5 – He has one merit, that of banging himself a lot. The mistake just before going out is a symptom: he doesn’t have the security of his best days. From 76′ Soulé 5 – Unjustified absent, he only shows up at the time of the changeover.
Claudio Ranieri 5.5 – It is true that the journey is long and full of dangers, but this Rome melts like snow in the sun. Now the situation is disastrous: we need thoughtful choices, from all points of view.
