Milan, Scaroni on piracy: “Italy has the best law but it is not applied”

(ANSA) – ROME, DECEMBER 14 – “The Italian parliament has made a valid law against piracy, perhaps the best in Europe. But the laws must be enforced instead we see that following this law piracy only increases. We ask to the judiciary and financial police to intervene. Having the best law not applied is useless.” Paolo Scaroni, president of Milan, said this during a panel in Atreju. Speaking about betting advertising in football he added: “Italy is the only European country that prohibits this type of advertising in football.

This prohibition born in the dignity decree costs us at least 100 million, then it is not clear why we should not participate in the revenue from bets made on football”. The CEO of DAZN, Stefano Azzi, also returned to the topic of piracy: “The future of the world of football passes through the growth of revenues and therefore through the fight against piracy, a phenomenon that has been neglected for some time. Today, in fact, there are 4 million Italians who use forms of subscription to piracy. We have the best regulatory framework in Europe, now that piece of going to the end customer and not just those who distribute it is missing.” (ANSA).
